The most powerful plant in the world…

articleUseronJuly 25, 2026

Marinated variant

Boil water with a little salt.

Add the washed fatty grass and leave it for 2-3 minutes.

Drain the plant well.

Add a little vinegar, garlic, a bay leaf and a few peppercorns.

Leave it cold for a few hours before serving.

Beware of oxalates

Fatty grass contains oxalates, substances that can be a problem for people prone to kidney stones or with certain kidney conditions. Some sources mention that the plant can have a high oxalate content, which is why consumption should be done with caution in these cases.

If you have had kidney stones, kidney disease, or have been recommended a diet low in oxalates, seek medical advice before consuming this herb often.

Who must be cautious

Consume grass fat sparingly if:

you have kidney stones or kidney problems;

you have chronic diseases and you are undergoing treatment;

you are pregnant or breastfeeding;

you have plant allergies;

you’re not sure you’ve identified the plant correctly;

the plant grew in a place treated with pesticides or herbicides.

Do not consume plants picked from polluted areas, roadsides or places sprayed with chemicals.

Conclusion

Fat grass is not just a weed. It is an edible, tasty and nutritionally interesting plant. It can be added to salads, soups, omelettes or side dishes and can bring extra freshness to the diet.

However, it should not be presented as a treatment for the heart, diabetes, inflammation or other conditions. It is a food, not a medicine.

Consume it sparingly, identify it correctly and only use it if it comes from clean places.
